| The School of Economics & Management of
Guangzhou University is the starting place of economist and the cradle
of management elites. Our maxim is ”°to be learned, determined, devoted
to practice and honest; to bring about beneficence to commerce and
society and; to uphold good management and truth.”±
The school covers two branches of learning, i.e. economics and
management science. We are clearly specialized. We are performing
a flexible credit system. All these provide a satisfactory study
and research conditions for the students and a splendid arena for
exhibition of personalities by different individuals.
The school is based in Guangdong but always been open to the domestic
and outside world. It has established the development strategy of
”°building up the school with education, developing it with scientific
research and making it ever stronger by human resource.”± It has
been all-inclusive in its liberalism. It accepts personnel of superior
capacity. It has been making all efforts to practice a scientific
conception of development.
The school insists in taking the development of branches of learning
as the leading role, teaching as the focus and training of qualified
talents as its objective. It lays stress on special feature and
value the basic knowledge mastered by students and training of innovation
capability. With its open and cooperative attitude, it joins hand
with wise and able people of the country and around the world to
build the School of Economics and Management into a base for training
highly qualified personnel£”
The school is young. We have before us opportunities as well as
challenges. We are confident that within a relatively short time,
the school will leap forward in its development. We will further
open up our field of vision and absorb advanced ideas to build up
a more reasonable platform for development. The teachers and students
of the school are making great efforts for further achievement
with their faith, practical attitude and dedication to the same
cause.
